The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed Nigeria recorded 753 new cases of corona virus on Thursday, bringing the new total number of infections to 180,661.
According to the report from the agency, the new cases were recorded in 14 states as Lagos led with 364 cases followed by Akwa Ibom and Oyo states with 141 and 74 cases respectively.
Other states with high number of cases include Rivers – 46, Abia – 38, Ogun -24, Kwara – 20 and Ekiti – 10.
The remaining states include Delta – 9, Edo – 6, Plateau – 5, Imo – 3 and Bayelsa – 1.
Meanwhile, the agency revealed that 5 persons died of the infection on Thursday which brings the country’s fatality toll to 2,200.
However, almost 12,000 cases are still active in Nigeria. Many are being managed at accredited isolation centres while others are under home care management.
